The Geelong Chorale is Geelong's foremost chamber choir and has been an
integral part of Geelong's cultural life for six decades. The Geelong Chorale
celebrated its 60th Anniversary in 2009. It is a section of GAMA
(Geelong Association of Music and Art) which also includes The Geelong Musical Society
and the Geelong Repertory Theatre Company The repertoire of the choir encompasses a wide range of styles and periods. Recent performances have included unaccompanied madrigals, Italian opera choruses, Australian part-songs and large scale works, such as Rutter's "Requiem" performed with orchestra. The choir also performs works by contemporary composers, including well known Geelong musician Dr. Malcolm John. The chorale rehearses every Monday night at St. Luke’s Uniting Church of Australia, which is on the corner of Barrabool and Scenic Roads, Highton, at 7.30pm .
